I have NEVER had to use mine. Ever.
And I understand the purpose of them…but in some ways I don’t.
Here’s why:
1) When in subspace, sometimes the sub is so far gone, he/she isn’t going to be able to say it.
2) If the sub has progressed into more of slave, how likely would he/she use a…
I suppose I understand this, but I HATE when people feel it is completely on the Dominant to stop a scene, or know what a sub is feeling/thinking. We don’t. Contrary to popular belief we cannot read minds. It is part of the subs responsibility to figure out a proper way to communicate to their Dominant about what they need and when they need it. I played with a girl at a party who, when she reached her breaking point, couldn’t talk. This was the first time we played so I didn’t know from experience what she needed. Because she couldn’t say red she simply did a time out signal. It wasn’t words, but she made sure I understood that she had had enough.
Leaving it up to the Dominant to read your mind about what you need puts you in a lot of danger. If you get so far gone that you cannot tell the person you are playing with when you’ve had enough you shouldn’t be playing.
Also there can be times when safewords are needed for protection; mental or physical. Sub, slave, Dominant, switch, etc. The role you identify with doesn’t decide weather or not you can use a safeword. I’m sure a Dominant would rather have a healthy and alive sub and/or slave who used their word, then a injured or permanently hurt one who didn’t for fear of not being a true sub and/or slave.
As his excitment grows… each opening of his cage is suddenly filled with his hardening flesh… only to realize the pain and discomfort he will be put through each and every time he can’t control himself…. the way it should be!

things any dog owner should know
it kills me seeing people get pets without understanding the commitment and responsibility it takes to raise and care for another living being.
Ditto on what Derek said, and also for children.
